TESTIMONIALS

Jose B.

... this is BY FAR the best Weibull analysis course there is. All the topics are really thoughtfully taught in a way that really helped me learn.

Sammie S.

I 'had' to do this course for work. I wasn't looking forward to it ... but it was actually one of the most enjoyable data analysis statistics courses I have ever done.

Kelly W.

... I have done lots of reliability training over the years - but I wish they were all delivered like this!

Temmy X.

I loved the animations and the illustrations! This made understanding the theory so much easier.

SOMETIMES IT IS IMPORTANT TO MEASURE RELIABILITY ...

BUT IT IS ALWAYS MORE IMPORTANT TO IMPROVE RELIABILITY

Good reliability engineering is not about numbers and statistics. It is about understanding how your system or product fails. Understanding failure means you know how many products will fail during the warranty period … or the VITAL FEW weak parts of your system. Knowing the VITAL FEW also means you know the few things you need to do to drastically improve reliability.

But if you are relying on data from tests or the field …there are problems.
The first is that you often don’t have a lot of data.

And the second is that humans cannot look at a bunch of numbers and see if the system or product is wearing-in
or going to fail within two years.

Weibull analysis is perhaps THE best way to get information from reliability data.

Weibull analysis (including Weibull plotting) is perhaps the most well-known ‘go-to’ analysis tool preferred by reliability engineers. This is because the Weibull probability distribution can model and match many different ways products and systems fail very simply. Knowing how to conduct Weibull analysis means you know how to extract the most meaningful information you can from reliability (and other data).

WHAT DOES THIS COURSE LOOK LIKE?

The course is broken down into 8 modules. Each module is made up of 4 x 1-hour lessons delivered over a period of two weeks. But don't forget ... you will have access to the recorded lessons for 12 months.

The fundamental aim is to teach students how to be masters of Weibull analysis, and be comfortable conducting sophisticated analysis moving forward. The course will also teach students how to extract and interpret information in ways that add value to not only their organization, but the 'worth' as an engineer.

Module 1 - Improving is better than measuring reliability... We start by looking at what we are trying to achieve through reliability engineering, starting with the types of reliability metrics we want to achieve along with how we get there.

Module 2 - How do we describe (random) failure? With PROBABILITY DISTRIBUTIONS which are ways we communicate how likely certain random variable values (like Time to Failure or TTF) are compared to others. This includes the exponential, normal, lognormal and Weibull distirbutions.

Module 3 - Plotting data to learn something Where we use the Weibull distribution to help us visualize data that allows us to work out how failure is occurring simply by looking at the shape our data points trace out.

Module 4 - The Acuitas Weibull Plotting Tool  Where we learn how to simply, quickly and efficiently implement all the techniques and approaches we have learned in a simple, Microsoft ® Excel ® based tool that can be used anywhere ... FOR FREE!

Module 5 - Sucking information out of your Weibull plot... Where we learn so many additional 'things' from our Weibull plot that really help us make better decisions ranging from marketing through to maintenance.

Module 6 - More types of Weibull analysis... Where we look at how Weibull analysis and the Weibull distribution with other things like Accelerated Life Testing (ALT) and reliability growth.

Module 7 - Weibull analysis making a difference... Focus on actually making better (and more valuable) design, engineering, operational, manufacturing, business and logistics decisions using Weibull analysis.

Module 8 - Finalizing our Weibull mastery... Where we practice our skills and reinforce our learning ... to finally make us Weibull Analysis masters!
